Raul Ramirez is the Chief Segment and International Operations Officer for Choice Hotels International, Inc. (NYSE: CHH), one of the largest and most successful lodging franchisors in the world. In this role, he is responsible for driving the growth and performance of Choice’s upscale, extended stay, and core midscale and economy brands as well as the International Division.

Mr. Ramirez joined Choice Hotels in 2017 and previously served as the Chief Strategy and International Operations Officer. During his tenure, Mr. Ramirez has provided leadership to the corporate strategy and transformation, financial planning and analysis, international corporate development and strategic finance functions at Choice Hotels. In addition, he led the successful integrations of WoodSpring Suites and the nine Radisson Hotels Americas brands following their acquisition by Choice, and he spearheaded the transformation and expansion of the company’s international operations, which span over 40 countries and territories.

Prior to joining Choice, Mr. Ramirez held various senior finance and operational leadership roles at Verizon, XO Communications, and Nextel International. He holds a Bachelor of Science in electronic and communication engineering from the Tecnológico de Monterrey in Mexico and a Master of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and he has completed additional graduate studies at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. Mr. Ramirez serves on the boards of directors of Choice Hotels Canada and Choice Hotels Barbados.
